I just downloaded .20, as i haven't played DF in a few months and am gonna get back into it, but this version doesn't have a tileset option to get rid of the periods and commas and whatnot in the grass and ground tiles. Is there any way we can get another tileset option in the data/art folder to get rid of those? I would just transfer one from an older version but I want the diagonal walls too. I'm sure it doesn't bother most people too much but i'm fine with my periods looking like scatters in the text. I'd much rather have the grass and floor just looking like and grass and floor without periods and commas. Thanks for all the wonderful work that you've put into making an amazing, comprehensive tileset Mayday, and thanks for any consideration of an option similar to the older maydayMAX.png's.

I used to use the non-period/comma tileset too, but as long as I have "varied ground tiles" enabled I'm ok without now.  If the tiles aren't varied the periods look really bad.

Yeah, i have varied tiles on but it still just kinda breaks that nice 8-bit immersion I used to get. I don't really have the graphics skills to modify the tileset so i guess i'll have to get used to it for now. Hopefully future versions will have the options for a tileset without the punctuation.

I'm working on the site right now, there'll be a tutorial on moving DFG to a mac/linux/latest release.
I'll also add some additional tilesets, but please realize that with frequent editing, I can not possibly release a tileset for every one even though I'd love to
There will also be some workfiles (separate layers with different options) for those with basic gfx editing skills.

EDIT: OK, the tutorial is up.
EDIT2: So is DFG21, with optional tilesets.

Wait, so the background glow is back? Can it be disabled? If so, how?

It's really horrible.

Just change the tileset man. It's explained right under the download link.

Aha, I had neglected to change the font tag as well, so got strange results. Sorry. :)

Just for the record I love the DFG 19 tileset and still use them over the 'fixed' v20.  Is this back in 21 as one of the optional tilesets?

Mike, did you really package Dwarf Therapist in there at one point? Thank's for the compliment! I push DFG for you whenever I can :)

Shadetree- yup, it's there, even as the default one, much to the dismay of many

Chmod- are you kidding me? I heart Dward Therapist! It is you who should be thanked! In fact...

Does this look right?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This looks drastically different than DFG20, just making sure my computer is working correctly.

I'm posting this in all the relevant/active Modding threads.  There's a good chance that the next version's graphics system will allow you to use separate graphics for males and females, and any other creature castes:

Have caste selectors been added to the creature graphics system?

I thought they were, but maybe that was just raw positions.  I've made a note.
