Upon his arrival in Minjing, Munisai is greeted with all the honor due to a visiting noble of the Empire and is quartered in one of the nicer towers in the city. He is informed that Zei-Ran is simply mopping up the last bits of barbarian resistance in Weidan-shu, and that he shall join him once that tedious task has been completed.

I'm back! Muhahaha.

After several weeks, Lola was finally able to leave her apartment and study the city. She had had a fever and had only recently been able to recover her strength. The town was beautiful, small as it was. She wished she could stay at [City Name] and study it properly, but knew she must continue to free the desert from the Barbarians grasp. As such she left, leading her three hundred strong army behind her. As she traveled she reminisced about how the Archers were chosen:

The men were ordered into squads and marched up and down the drill square, the top two hundred staying, and the rest leaving. The remaining men were each given a bow, and they were told to fire at progressively further targets, and if they could hit them, they then stayed. The bottom fifty were equally dismissed. They were then given armour and ordered to run an assault course, the top one hundred were allowed through and the final fifty were, like the others, refused, however it was recommended that they try to fill the vacant positions in the Infantry and Cavalry Units. The surviving one hundred were then trained and honed into a full fighting force.

That was a week ago, but felt had like years to her fevered mind.

Orders:
Train a Unit of Archers
March East towards the area just North of the nearest Oasis.

Turn 33, Autumn

Some news about titles and various such things.

Protector of a city : One who has received (from the Court) the duty to protect a certain city from harm.
Governor of a city : A governor is the legal ruler of a city. A governor gains +1 in Leadership and Nobility. The Court can name governors for cities. They can also transfer that power to a Count (or above), this usually requires someone (a hero) to go to the Court in person to ask.
Count : Lowest ranking noble. +1 in all stats. Can name Governors for cities under his control.
Viscount : +2 in all stats. Can name one Count.
Duke : +3 in all stats. Can name one Viscount and two Counts.
Prime Minister : +3 in all stats. Supervises the land for a Prince while he grows old enough to rule it by himself. Has many powers but must still comply to Court decisions.
Prince : +3 in all stats. One who is destined to become Celestial Lord and is technically equivalent to the Celestial Lord in rights and powers.
Celestial Lord : +4 in all stats. Ruler of the Empire mandated by the Heavens. His decisions supercede anyone else's, including the Court (though it's a tricky business).

People of rank Governor or above have a say in daily matters of the Court. Usually they send a representative (hero) to speak for them. Titles are granted by the Court (obviously Court decisions can be pulled in the right direction by influential people). If you send a hero to the Court, his stats matter in how well he is able to help matters move along.

You may also be allowed to give out various positions to your heroes.

Remember a few things though. Heroes have a mind and are not slaves to you. They may betray you if they are not treated the way they would like. They can also be persuaded to betray. You can talk to heores (any hero, not only your own) by PMing me.

On letters of recommendation (I don't remember if I already said this) :
You may receive from time to time a letter of recommendation. These can be used to increase a hero or general's stats by 1. To use them, you must go to one of the Celestial cities (marked by %) to have you trained. Like items of any kind, they can be freely traded among yourselves.

Zei-Ran and Yun Wong stand on the walls of Weidan-Shu. Zei-Ran folds the letter he has in his hands and turns to his protegé.

"Excellent work, Wong. I think you are ready for your first solo conquest. The coastal city of Hū (21,9) has been in Barbarian hands for far too long. You will take our Army and conquer it for the Empire. Shu Yu will be joining you with a complement of archers."

"It shall be done, my lord." The young officer bows.

"To aid you, I want you to read this on the Journey over." Zei-Ran hands over a tome. "It is Mi Ling's Treatise on Battles and Wars. His advice shall guide you to certain victory over the barbarians."

Yun Wong bows even lower. "I am honored to have such an artifact entrusted to me, my lord."

"Excellent. Now, make your preparations and head off. I shall take our newly trained Cavalry with me as an escort back to Minjing. There are matters there I must attend to."

---------
Orders

Cavalry is trained at Weidan-Shu
Archers are trained at Oloski

Yun Wong takes the experienced Cavalry, Infantry, and Archers with him and heads out to 21,9.
Shu Yu takes the one company of archers and goes to join Yun Wong at 21,9.
Zei-Ran takes the newly trained Cavalry with him back to Minjing.
Mi Zheng travels to Court.

Shu Yu departs

((some of the descriptions are erronous, I have send you a PM regarding that))

anyway:

Munisai awaits Zei-Rans return.

Shou Ji disembarks on 20;-23, and then moves on land to 22;-24

Kestrel disembarks on 20;-23, and the moves on land to 20;-25

Together, they attack the city from two different sides. Shou Ji, who has the much stronger army, moves in for the main attack, to distract the enemies inside the city.
Kestrel, with the smaller, less easier to spot force, attempts to ambush the south of the walls, which is hopefully, only lightly, or not at all defended.
If his force manages to break the walls where they are undefended, he will attempt to assassinate the enemy commander.

Koga, who sadly is a whole lot slower than the others, moves to 20;-23, where he guards the ships. Should they be stolen, the entire army could get stranded. Therefor, he sends out scouts into all directions, both over land and over seas.
Any rogue group of bandits or pirates MUST be spotted.

Taishi trains a unit of cavalry in Mardukane, and moves along the road towards Angran, from where he will head towards the court in the capital.

Pang and Xian moves towards the city to the north-west of them, while the army led by the captain continues it's agonisingly slow journey.

Lola looked back at the receding walls of Aremac, wondering about her new lieutenant. His name was Tsing Liu, a Hero of the Desert. She had sent him a message giving him his first orders but she still wished to see him in person, to learn more about him and resolve any worries he may have. She had also received a message from the Artisan charged with restoring the Hanging Gardens of Fushang to their proper glory. It reported that due to help from the Celestial Council they had been able to finish the Gardens. This meant that the title of 'Builder' of the Gardens was somewhat defunct. The more apt 'Warden of the Gardens' worked better.

Tsing Liu however, was having an entirely different week. He was required to supervise the training of a second group of Cavalry. The procedure was similar, but mainly involved riding on horseback. Or in a few cases, falling off of a horse's back. These men were instantly barred from joining the cavalry and were sent home, shamefaced. However, after a week of grueling training and testing, one hundred steel clad warriors were in formation, on the back of their mighty war horses.

Orders:
Lola moves all soldiers in Aremac to (-1,-15) ((Sorry for not making that clear))
Cavalry is trained in Fushang.

Maybe some more later? I'm not sure...

"Sweet revenge, right, sir?"
Fierban peered through the rain at the city ahead. The barbarian's measly palisade encircled the whole city, including the port. Wise. But there were hardly any water defences. One could simply sail right in. As they were about to do.
After a while Fierban remembered the captain's question. "No, captain. I do not do sweet revenge. I do disciplined killing."
The rain slowed, somewhat, and the waters calmed. The men drew their weapons as the fleet sailed forwards, ready to jump out and kill. The strategy was simple and standard; everyone piles into the city, infantry at the front, archers behind, and cavalry flanking.

The entire fleet attacks the barbarian city. Boring boring. Well not really but until one has an outcome to the battle it is kind of silly to describe it.

In other news, those with their ear to the political grapevine may know that fierban has recently been made a count.
Hooray for Count Fierban! (also Governor of Shaocoun, and General Who Hunts Barbarians)
And Commander Tsoi, Governor of Kojo!
