Since the infantry unit would only take too many losses when attempting to take the enemy, and would slow down the pursue, the infantry unit, together with Kestrel, who is still wounded, is send back to Mardukane, taking with them all the wounded soldiers, including the wounded of the cavalry unit.

Madara, now faster than ever before, attempts to run down the cowardly archers with two unit of cavalry. His goal is to under all circumstances delay them and hinder their movement. The enemy must not be allowed to reach the city.
Munisai is formulating battle plans that allow his cavalry to encircle the slow moving archers from east and north, leaving south and west as the only possible retreat route.

also, scouts are send southwards to the city that lies there. A second team of scouts is send to the city north-eastwards, to see what kind of forces still remain in those places.

Jierui moves to his main city, gathers his gear, recruits another squad of infantry and sets off northwards, towards his new targets. The infantry stays in the city to protect it against possible threats.

Duan Ruang had matched blades and wits the enemy commander many times. He was dismayed to see that this one was at least half Celestial, gifted with great intelligence and strength, but no doubt so removed from his people he could not remember his own. Duan could of called him son if they had met in happier times...

They were evenly matched in strength, matching blow for crushing blow. It was only by barest luck that as the battle began to turn against Duan's cavalry, his foe relented due to his wounds. It was all Duan needed. He struck his enemy a deadly blow, and seized his banner...

He got to the city gates before collapsing from his wounds. As city healers attended to the virulent infection coursing through him, Ruang was tortured with fevered dreams of fire and death.

Screams. A beautiful vase lying in pieces on the floor of the monastery. Laughing barbarians. The cold *twang* of the Bowshot that ended the life of his father. The altar to the Gods, wreathed in Hellish flame. And then a black void.

So, hey, akroma, I recall you mentioning you don't like self-made men? Whoops, looks like I just got myself a self-made hero.
Daaamn

The Black Circle flew proudly over the still unnamed village when Fierban returned. Soldiers in watchtowers spotted his approach and cheered. The gates were opened, and they were met by Tsoi and a dozen archers. Tsoi looked quite pleased with himself.
Tsoi bowed.
"General"
"Commander"
"By the grace of our Lord, I am, since a few days"
"A wise choice, indeed. Of course you will require proper education in the arts of leadership before you will be a truly competent commander"
"Naturally, sir"
Fierban and his men dismounted, and their horses were led away. Fierban dismissed the men and walked with Tsoi to the center of the city.
"Tell me about the barbarian attack, Tsoi"
"They were driven off with no major losses on either side, sir. Their hearts were not in the attack, I think. I fear they were more scouts come to test our defences"
"Perhaps. Regardless we shall march against them soon. His Lordship has commanded me to take the city to the north east, and with no ships we will have to march through them to get there."
"Should I lead some soldiers against them, sir?"
"No, no. We will rest here for a while, fortify the city, set up trade. And I will teach you as much of leadership and tactics as I can."
"In anticipation, already spent some time reading on tactics, sir"
"Excellent. That reminds me, did you find out what this city was called whilst I was away?"
"Ah, yes. After careful investigation I have concluded that the city was known as Shaocuon in the past"
"Shaocuon. Hmmn. It doesn't roll of the tongue with perfect efficiency, but it shall do. Incense of Shaocuon. Yes, it will do. Very well, I will inform the Celestial Lord that I have named my city Shaocuon. Did I mention he made me it's governor?"
"No, sir, but it's not exactly unexpected"
"No. Anyway, to your lessons. Come"

Fierban and horsemen move to his city. Tsoi studies tactics (from books).
My city shall henceforth be known as Shaocuon.

Lola gave her orders to her lieutenants. One fifth of her men will attack north from the Oasis, Another will attack their East. The final three fifths commanded by herself will Charge the center. Her group will attack first, and when the barbarians are tied up in melee the other two units will strike their flanks and rear.
Lola then stepped out into the blazing sun to speak to her soldiers.

"Men, you know why we are here. Not only is it to liberate the Oasis's from the clutch of the Barbarians but we are to escort Li Ru, my uncle, to see the famous hanging gardens of Fushang. These gardens are not only famous, but unique. My uncle will be the first of many people to attempt to cross this desert. And it is our job to protect these people. We can only do this if the Oasis's are safe from the Barbarians! Men, attack!"

Yun Wong watched from the railing of his flagship as the last of the fresh recruits walked up the gangplanks onto his vessels. Zei_Ran's orders were specific. He is to head north, attacking any enemy vessels that he encounters and blockading the port of the city of Yinmei. Once he is in position, Zei-Ran will issue further orders.

The Khan watched the dust in the distance as the cavalry unit dispersed into the forest, splitting up in its entirety into scouts. They were instructed to search for this "broken bridge" that Xia had managed to divine. As the last rider disappeared, Ogedei turned away from the palace window to face a cadre of old men, with some younger ones as apprentices.
'Get me to fighting shape as soon as possible, or else the decoration for the next festival will be made of you!'
The medics nodded meekly and followed Ogedei into the palace.

Ogedei moves to Luyang.
The cavalry unit is split into scouts with the objective to find the hermit of the forest.
Ogedei is being healed up.
And if possible, Xia attempts to divine any little details that might still help finding the hermit.

Having driven the fleeing archer south succesfully, Munisai decides not to waste anymore time chasing them. His mission is to liberate the city that is directly in reach, not to destroy those puny archers.

After having received word from his scouts that the slave-revolte in the city are going at full strength, and the few defenders in there are already mostly unable to cope with that, he decides that the time has come to instill law and order in that city.
He will aid the celestial slaves in their attack on the few barbarians left, and take controle over the city. The almost-broken archers would hopefully retreat southwards to the city they came from, or they would surely regret it.

-------------------------

Madara and his 2 cavalry units take controle of the city at -25;04

Kestrel and his units move into the city and heal up. If any movement points are left after this, they move south into the forest.

Ruang awoke from his fevered dream. The healers hovered over him, pity in their eyes…not that he could understand it. He tried to get up, and a wave of pain nearly sent him back into unconsciousness.

“General, your wounds are grievous. You must rest.” She said.
He didn’t listen. “Cover the wounds with gauze. Prepare my horse. We ride today” He was wary of attacking a wall of spears with horsemen though...he needed the help of the Gods, no matter what is cost him.

His men, dispirited, seemed amazed that he was alive. And that he was leading them into battle again...

Actions

Scout the infantry outside-if they are entrenched move to (41, -11) and taunt the enemy general to follow me, and then engage them if they leave.

If not,
Call the Wrath of the Gods upon them and lead my men to victory, then move to (41, -11).

I'm too wounded still, so stay out of the fight.

After staring at the roof for hours, bored out of his skull, Ogedei decided to stand up. The mere light wounds that he still beared would not hinder him too much, and the mere thought of just lying around for another week horrified him.
Besides, one of the scouts had reported about finding the "broken bridge" which indeed was just a broken bridge. After lengthy session of apologies and groweling about getting lost on the way there and on the way here, he finally confirmed the obvious: that the bridge indeed was built over a river! After a good kick in the kidneys, he was sent out.
Since Ogedei didnt know about any other rivers in the area than the one north of the city, he strongly suspected that the broken bridge would cross over it aswell. Luckily, there was a less used forest path going by the river, so it would be easy to follow the river and find the bridge.
He snapped his legs together and jumped sharply out of his bed, the covers flying all around the room. He felt a small tinge of pain but shrugged it aside.
'IGOR!'
'Yeth mathter?'
Ogedei turned sharply on his heels and stared down on the hunched man in a black dress.
'Deliver the order that im moving out today. That witchwoman should come too.'
Igor nodded and lurched out of the door with surprising speed.
From what hellhole did i dig that one out, Ogedei wondered briefly, and shrugged. He went to don his armor on.

Ogedei moves out with the regulars and Xia, and moves to (-20, -13) While at the same time looking for the broken bridge along the river. Scouts are sent ahead to warn of possible ambushes and to find the bridge.

The recently trained infantry unit is disbanded and replaced with an unit of archers, left to defend Luyang.

Continue along the path, look for the bridge, scout around for the hermit. Also, if something dramatic and unexpected happens next turn, i leave it to you, Istrian, to act accordingly and rationally.

Zei-Ran continues to siege the city to keep the barbarians hemmed inside. Yun Wong continues north up the eastern coast, with orders to plunder any enemy ships he comes across. Eventually, he is to blockade the port of Yinmei
