"Men! You may have heard of the hero's of Mardukane. But here you do something that is equally important. We must rid this land of the Barbarians so that good, honest people can live their lives with out the threat of attack. Bards may not sing of our victory here as they may about the Siege of Mardukane, but do not be disheartened! Tonight, there will be a feast held under the stars to celebrate the liberation of this Oasis. The Oasis of 'Shangfu'."
After a much needed day of rest, the Cavalry marches out to liberate a Second Oasis from the Barbarians.

Orders:
Soldiers celebrate
Move East x2

"Today, many men will die. Hopefully most of them will be barbarians but I can't guarantee anything..... Anyway, uh, Let's go kill them."
The gates were drawn open, and the soldiers marched out in loose formation. Then began the tiring campaign of circling the city, finding enemy ambushes, and breaking them. If the enemy should decide to form into a greater mass, then they would circle them and pepper them with arrows. And if they stayed put, hiding with a dozen men in the bushes, they would not be able to out manoeuvre the skirmishing archers.

Archer unit: As described. Seeing as the enemy infantry is thinly spread wanting to ambush people, my archers go in small loose groups, seek out their ambushes (I'm not in a forest; how well can they hide?), then skirmish against them. And if they do gather into a large unit, well, archer beats infantry.

Fierban and the cavalry unit scout the area around the city. If somehow there actually are barbarians hiding in the hills, back to the city.

I am neither a tactican nor am I good with rethorics, but I am sure telling your men "dunno, you might ie or not, I am not really sure" is among the worst things you can tell them...

(I am merely simulating the fact that my men are being led by a guy who, due to game mechanics, has no leadership, tactics, or nobility skill at all. And he doesn't like lying.)

' O' great Khan, the messenger from the imperial capital has arrived.'
The soldier made way for the man who stepped in from tents doorway. Wordlessly, the messenger handed the imperial orders to Ogedei, bowed, and departed the same way.
Finally after reading the letter, Ogedei nodded silently to himself.
'Governor, more troops and... well i hope she's hot'
He smiled slyly and crumbled the letter. An underling who could manipulate the odds with magic would surely be useful.

But there were more pressing matters at hand. This outpost would be dealt with, but right now his scouts were telling him that an enemy force was advancing towards Luyang from the east. And besides, he was in need of some serious medical care. He issued an order for the men to pack up.

Ogedei Khan and the army move to (-20, -16)
Unit of infantry is trained at Luyang

Seeing the enemy numbers radicaly dwindling more and more, and their morale reaching an incredible low, Munisai decides to not let them get even a single night of rest. Using the advantage of the incredible speed his army has over the enemies army, as well as their superior numbers, he decides to put a rotation system into his attacks, always having two units attack, while the third rests.
Every night, to deprave the enemy of sleep and rest, they would attack and slowly dwindle them down to a point at which they just desert and disperse.

Again, he promises a reward for the brave soldier who brings him the head of the generals. Having no man to unit them would speed up the process a lot.

------------------------

In other words, the order is to attack.

Ogedei finished the letter he had been writing, and handed it to one of his underlings.
'Get this as soon as possible to Luyang and give it to this... Ziliu Xia'
With that, she should do what he wished. Divine the location of this hermit, and join forces with him at (-16, -16)

Ogedei moves to (-16, -16)
Ziliu attempts to divine the location of the hermit. After this she moves with the infantry unit to (-16, -16)

Fierban had had enough. Xian was finished up north and would soon be back, and there were no barbarians waiting for him to leave the city. He sent messages to Xian Jierui and the Celestial Lord; to the first informing him that he was leaving the city; to the second that he had delivered the items and that as soon as Jierui returned he would posses them, and that he awaited new orders.
Fierban and his horsemen set off in their usual disciplined fashion. They were well rested and fed, they hadn't had to fight anyone outside of a drill in weeks, and they weren't heading off to fight unduly large amounts of barbarians either. Life was good and so forth.
Of course, if they didn't reach the city on time the inhabitants would starve. So they were riding with some haste.

Fierban and unit moves to (28,1)

Tsoi paced. Fierban was coming back to the city; that was good. But he wouldn't be here for 2 weeks at the least. That meant their supplies would probably not last. It would be neccesary to act more aggressively. It may mean larger losses, but starvation would lead to larger losses still.
He arranged for more frequent attacks and told the troops to be more aggressive. Hopefully they would at least kill some barbarians as that they could break out of the city the coming week.

Same orders as last turn, but more aggressive.

Duan coughed and spat. He had pushed the enemy back, but the cowardly enemy leader had shot him in the shoulder with a poison arrow in the midst of battle. Healers were attending to him as best they could, but his wounds were worsening. Even now, he could not slow. He could not stop. His fever fueled his anger. His men were still ready to fight, so he ordered them to pursue the enemy cavalry. They would die, they would all die...or Duan Ruang would be relieved of the burden of his life.

Actions
Pursue and destroy enemy cavalry, again leading the charge against them myself.

If victorious,  attack enemy infantry, using hit and run tactics. Assuming I survive the previous battle, don't take part in this one.

If defeated, we can retreat back to the city...again >.>

Zei-Ran looks contemptuously at the city of Yinmei. These cowardly barbarians are content to hide behind walls while ships keep them supplied. Very well, then. He shall have to change the situation. He summons his lieutenant and has new orders sent to Yun Wong.

Hmm...what an annoying week for us.

Wong has new orders. Sweep northward, attacking any merchant vessels he finds on his way up to Yinmei. We'll strangle their supply lines and get plunder from it at the same time!

"The Men have done well so far. They shall rest for now, and recuperate their strength before attacking again." Lola said, watching as one of her aides left the tent with these orders, before turning to the second, and saying:
"While the men rest, I want you to scout out as much information as you can about the barbarians. Be it numbers, morale, experience. You know how to do it."

Orders:
Arny rests and does not engage the barbarians
Scouts study the Barbarians in great detail.
