i feel sorry for any dwarf that breaks the law in my fortress
« on: September 08, 2009, 08:29:19 pm »

i wanted to get rid of my hammerer because all my nobles like big shiny expensive things so i locked him in a room with 21 caged gobblins of varying strengths
i pull the lever and he kills everything with no net scratches he got a brown upper body but that healed before he was even finished now he is known as Erush Lilarlogem Rilem Reg, Erush Patternpainted the youth of gloves

Use the foolproof Dwarven Euthanasia device: lock him in a room until he starves to death.

It'd always be better to cripple him, so a new one doesn't arrive.

Well actually, just lock him in a room and put stockpiles on top of floor hatches above, so you can give him food and booze periodically.

I can imagine in the inevitable event where crimes are commited and not dealt with if he gets out... slaughter much?

Also he should be naturally locked in his bedroom, office and such

1. Get him to stand on a hatch above a 3 z-level fall
2. Open hatch
3. He falls unto another hatch

Rinse repeat

You all are wimps. Dwarven justice is a way of life(mostly death, but still).

Keep the hammerer, and never stop him from his work. See how long you can last.

Hammer the Hammerer.
Hammer him until he's a shattered wreck, then chain him up to starve.
An eye for an eye, etcetera.

Ironblood personally requests that they fight in his arena. :)

How do i get a dorf into a cage? Can i just assign them to a cage or do i have to trap them or something?

Get them to stand on a cage trap, then generate a cave-in - the dust will knock them unconscious, and they'll trigger the trap.

This can also be used to dispose of wounded pets - simply assign them to a cage accessible only via a hallway filled with weapon traps, and they're likely to fall unconscious and get torn to pieces.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

Cage your hammerer, then sell him to the elves.

Or place him in the "Hammerer Hall" with his predecessors as a warning.

I don't think you can do either of those.
