Hrm... if I read correctly, this gizmo uses pressure across a non-permeable membrane to move the bits, so you can't directly copy it in DF.  You'd need to use systems of switches and pumps, which may well get more complicated than the logic machines that have already been built.

Not that complication is a bad thing, just saying is all.

My bigger concern is, just on a glance at the schema, is that it might require too large of a scale for DF to handle with the builder going rabid.
