Tile editing breaks rivers, help please?
« on: September 08, 2009, 03:52:47 pm »

Before we start YES IM A DIRTY CHEATER

Ok i dammed a river using the tile editor in Dtil, I simply summoned some stone walls in front of it to stop the river, when I removed the walls, (replacing them with copy pasted river tiles) the river refuses to flow, it just stays there, and will not flow past the offending blocks.

Ive tried resetting the river tiles, by copy pasting from other rivers, but to no avail.
Anyone know whats causing this? And can it be fixed or have I broken my river for good?

EDIT: Or suitable workaround, IE: What tag denotes an aquifier in that tile?, I could have a few blocks producing a rivers worth of water

The best way to get water to flow through a previously edited tile is to get your dwarves to build a wall near them. This seems to reset things and get it working again.
