Oh God yes.  A few years ago, while trying to cram a 5000 word essay into twelve hours of work, I managed to twist myself into such a Gordian knot of stress and panic that I started seeing these... I'm not sure what to call them, except they looked like people made of lines and angles.  And they wanted to kill me.

It was more or less like having a dream while still sort of awake.  The problem was, I could still see it in dim light.

Sometimes, if I've been lying down for awhile (or just sitting on the ground in extreme cases), and I quickly stand up, my vision will darken to show everything as reddish-brown blurs, and I will have balance issues.  Almost as soon as it starts, it gradually clears up over the course of 1-2 seconds.  Not really sure why this happens, but it has yet to cause me real problems.

That's just blood rushing to your head.  Or out of it.  Basically, if you let yourself settle, then move really quickly, yeah you're going to get spots and dizzyness for a few seconds from blood sloshing in your eyes and brain.

Not LSD.  That stuff stays in your system for ages.  You could have flashbacks years later, normally of bad trips.  Oh yeah, bad trips in general are a good reason not to do that stuff.  People do crazy shit when they're on a bad trip and think that fire hydrant is a dragon and that little girl is the only sword that can kill it . . .

Yes you have to be relaxed and comfortable if you want to do them, you can't be nervous or have any bad thoughts going through your head or you will have a bad trip.

So you shouldn't be anxious either. And I have a good example of something that would make one anxious: Taking drugs for the first time!

Also, LSD has the nasty habit of setting off dormant mental sicknesses.

Are you getting out of chairs or beds quickly? That would cause spots infront of your eyes easily.

Are you looking straight into Lightbulbs or stairing at something for hours? That can cause a burnt imprint into your eyes.

I used to code for a company and for awhile I realized I'd be more efficient if I could turn the swiveling monitor on its side, to get the advantage of the longer side. Well that night I had a layer of pixels across my vision the rest of the night. It's weird that the monitor didn't effect me like that unless the monitor was sideways.

I only ever see things when I'm really really tired which happens more often now due to school.
Just the other night I saw a cool looking black mask fly though my wall.

When I worked at a supermarket, I could hear carts crashing together when I went to bed.

When I worked at a banquet hall, I could hear dishes clinking and fancy music when I went to bed.  Not as much though, because I usually got home from the banquet hall at 1 or 2 AM and was beyond tired.

I think its normal that, when you've been hearing one sound for a long time, it 'imprints' - you hear it in other things, or even when there is no sound. Happened to me with the DF music :P
