Extremely Valuable Forge!
« on: September 07, 2009, 11:49:56 am »

Alright, well I just went to build another Metalsmith's Forge, when I noticed something odd... One of my anvils was of exceptional quality. Looking at it, I saw that my dwarves decided to trick the anvil out completely for some reason that was beyond me. This was the description:

I decided to go ahead and use it in the forge anyway, bringing the total value of that workshop up to 5781☼. I'm sure some Nobles were wishing they were Blacksmiths right about now... At least the Dungeon Master is happy.

Rebuild it using obsidian blocks or even aluminium/platinum blocks to crank the value even higher up.

Sometimes, when my Dorfs are exceptionally stupid again, I wonder what exactly the [INTELLIGENT]-tag does.

Anvils are classified as furniture, and when you order your dwarves to encrust furniture they grab what's closest at hand (by their reckoning) that doesn't already have that kind of material on it.

I actually do have a couple platinum blocks sitting around...

I got an anvil like that recently as well. I ended up selling it.

Inspired by the anvil, and this piece of information in particular:

Anvils are classified as furniture, and when you order your dwarves to encrust furniture they grab what's closest at hand (by their reckoning) that doesn't already have that kind of material on it.

I decided to make a new challenge for myself: Creating the most expensive idol possible. I locked some craftswarfs in a room filled with gems, metal, a forge, a jewler's shop, and an already valuable idol my Legendary Bonecrafter made. Here is what they came up with:

It's worth 15420☼

I like to take a masterwork anvil, trick it out, and set it in my dungeon master's bedroom for his own personal use.

I say he's the most important noble I've ever had.
