DF has so many creatures that i haven't even heard before, including pre-historic fish and odd foul blendec things, but there's so many awesome creatures that haven't made in.
This isn't a sugestion topic, more like a "what creature would you like to see in DF" thing, toady has more to worry about then adding random creatures in DF right now, but hell, i just really wanted to post something about narwhals.

With horn finally making it in, narwhals are a great idea.

That said, my suggestion:

CRABS! There are no crustaceans other than cave lobsters. Borrow some exoskeletal structure basics from the GCS and antmen and make them a little fleshier underneath, boom. Crabs, crabmen, giant horseshoe crabs, etc.

It would be nice if we had basic canoes until real multi-tile jumbo boats can be done. Otherwise, all the aquatic life is slightly squandered.

It'd be nice to see more "redundant" animals for different biomes. Llamas and Alpacas for tropical/mountain biomes, caimans for rainforests, etc. I suspect that might have to wait until when/if toady decides to make animals live in specific regions rather than simultaneously existing in any workable biome.

Giant Crabs as a savage arctic ocean animal would be fun. You're just chilling in your fort and suddenly a size 16 arthropod busts down the door and starts dragging screaming dwarves into the ocean.
