Okay, so my trader got possessed and is whining about lack of materials. She says:

gems... shining - I have some cut cat's eye.
bones... yes    - Check.
stone... rock    - I HAVE NO STONE!? No, wait... i have.
tree... life        - 3 logs.
bars... metal    - Check.
cloth... thread  - Hmm, a few rope reed cloth.

Cloth is the one i'm unsure of. The wiki says that a possessed dwarf gives the same message for both silk cloth and plant cloth, but have separated those two entries. So, when he wants cloth, is it either silk or plant, not both?

I had the same problem. If you have one type of cloth, he obviously needs the other. It took me ages to find out before, and my weaver went bersersk. killed my whole military, I don't know how. Save yourself. get both types of cloth.

Well of course they want the other type of cloth, it would have been too easy otherwise. There's bound to be no traders for a while, and there isn't a single spider on my map. I'll get a new trader then... but before that, the old one must first berserk and then be 'taken care' of. There might be one casualty... she is holding her baby. xD

More than one. If she decides to berserk and save the baby (dunno if that can happen) she may use it as a shield, spelling doom for anyone nearby.

I feel bad for the baby. Mommy's insanity means death to both of them. (your baby can go mad too. I've only heard of them going melancholy, but I think they can berserk and go stark raving mad too. that would be awesome.)

Surround her with cage traps.  They'll catch berserk dorfs.  She may even raise her baby to a child in the cage.  I'm not sure. If so you can at least save the little dorf.

What materials does he already have in the shop?  Dwarves will gather things in order and if there is something missing they won't gather the remaining ones.

I'll just lock the door. Strangely enough, a locked in mad dorf will not try to open the door if you unlock the door after they have gone mad. Then i'll just send in my elite wrestler squad. The last mad dorf died instantly. Well, almost. He did get a martial trance before he recieved a swift killing blow.

Are you sure? The wiki seems to indicate that there's no difference for that.

Cut glass is a gem and can't be used, but I don't believe they'll ever want cut glass exclusively.

I do know they sometimes have requests for raw glass...

To the OP: Hit 't', go over the shop and see what she's already collected.

Did you check her info to see if she likes any particular types of the remaining materials? If she likes bone opal, that's probably the gem she's looking for. And so on.

Huh, didn't know about the 't' button. Someone mentioned it earlier too, but not how. Anyway, she did get a cat's eye, and seems to be stuck on cloth... thread. Which means she probably wants silk.

But she's marching to Bastille Day~

Carry on, may I suggest you arm your wrestlers for even more fun.

Last time i armed my soldiers they sparred each other to death. Most likely because there's no armor available.
