Unvote.1. Theo have a hard time determining the merc. Theos look at the believe if a player. Mercs would show as Athiest but so would Radicals and the Cabal. Theos are best off hunting religious for whoever picks them up.
Yes, but if you lynch one cabal they all go down, so there shouldn't be too much problem there. Of course, once the Theo is in a religion, they wouldn't mind taking out unconvertables anyway, and taking out the Merc would be a serious bonus.
For the record: FBI is the most dangerous to the merc. All it takes is one blocked kill and FBI will have him nabbed.
True, that. However, an FBI agent isn't gonna claim, so a Theo would be an excellant target.
2. Last game, the 'claimed theo' turned out to be a Zealot in disguise. Claiming Theo again leaves us stuck in an ugly WIFOM, though it's only a problem if we're suspecting that it's the merc.
The religions would find out fairly quickly that he's unconvertable, and it would be downhill from there, really.
I personally think that you may be oversimplifying the Merc role a bit. I don't think he's just an SK who needs a certain number of kills. His hit list, in order, would be:
1. Whoever the Televan tells him to kill (of course) unless it is himself
2. The FBI Agent, as he's a huge threat
3. Religious power roles, prioritising ones who are a direct threat to him
Anyway, you get the idea. I agree that
Dakarian is overreacting rather a lot. There are a few reasons I can think of for this. You could be the Merc, and this to me seems most likely, considering your actions. I would like an explanation, anyway.
