Be careful who you try this with... Because I wouldn't doubt telling you that smoking is bad. Punching me or attempting to hurt me in any way would be a bad move.  As I said, violence doesn't solve problems.  It creates them.

 Doesn't defer from the point: Telling people smoking is bad is not a terribly clever or helpful move. They know it is bad for them. Most want to quit. The best you are doing is pointing out their inability to quit.

 As for smoking, my main issue is getting addicted in the first place. No amount of telling people smoking is bad for them will make them avoid it. This is because most people who do get into smoking do it to fit in with a crowd or be more at ease with their friends. I won't smoke because I hold a high standard of not doing anything contradictory to my nature to impress possible friends. I've done enough stupid crap to that nature to know that lesson.
 Note this is based off of observations and does not apply to everybody. Just know that telling smokers smoking is bad for them is not helpful. If they annoy you with smoking then politely tell them to stop. Over the internet, smoke isn't an issue unless those Indonesians have some diabolical technology out there.
