A quick scan of the stocks menu shows that one of the dead pack animals has a bin full of silk cloth!  It is speedily unforbidden, and my moody glassmaker sprints off to retrieve his prize amongst the smoking, charred, blood-soaked ruin that is the outdoors, totally oblivious to the carnage that was instigated on his behalf.

Clearly he causes it, not endures it. Perhaps all who look upon his glorious deific countenance spontaneously conceive.

I modded my kobolds up to being more like a true civ, and they are way more normal than these wacky dorfs.  The civ Shlukuslaylmis had 11 deities, and it's the most normal pantheon I've ever seen in this game.

- order, laws, and justice
- dreams
- minerals, jewels, metals, wealth, and theft
- forgiveness and mercy
- disease, blight, death, murder
- rain, plants, trees
- generosity, sacrifice, charity
- silence and wisdom
- music
- discipline

Meanwhile, one of the dorf civs has this weirdo.

Order in the court!  You must present your defense in the form of a song!  And it needs more cowbell!

And my modded in race decided to just have a goddess of everything they could think of.

And oh man, I just noticed the civ name of my other modded in race is "The Messianic Rape."  They should worship that male god of pregnancy.  Instead, they have gods like this.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Those wacky humans have not one, but two fish gods.  A female angelshark of fishing, fish, and justice; and a female halibut of rivers, lakes, coasts, oceans, and salt.

This other dwarf civ loves bizarre combinations, too.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The first three make sense, but... it's a cave fish.  How eloquent and poetic do they expect a cave fish to be?

Another modded civ one.  Tummy Pigdinner the Sacrificial Creams.  God of hospitality and food.  Now there's a good name.

Last one for today.

Death, suicide, and fame.  I'll let someone else say it...

Okay, I lied.  This was the very next one on the humans' list.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I bet their music and dances are... interesting.

My current fortress has a couple of neat gods.

Thomo, a deity of the Realm of Temples. He most often takes the form of a male Cattaran (custom race) and is associated with salt.

Githu the Gnarled Chaos, a deity of the Realm of Temples. He most often takes the form of a male Cattaran and is associated with nightmares and dreams.

Kenom is a deity of the Realm of Temples. She most often takes the form of a female Cattaran and is associated with rebirth and creation (obviously she's the "good deity").

Cobim is a deity of the Realm of Temples. She most often takes the form of a female Cattaran and is associated with wealth and trade.

Alir Reinstandard is a deity of the Realm of Temples. She most often takes the form of a female Cattaran and is associated with duty.

As you can see, Cattaran gods are largely useless or tricksters, while Cattaran goddesses are more useful, prosperous, etc. Kinda makes sense considering their society is matriarchal  ;D.

... was most often depicted as a male batman and was associated with the night, darkness, and justice.
That would be the best god ever.

Greiger's is actually correct...  sadly enough.  The emotional circumstance processor is still turned on, with a randomly rolled up personality, but they can't express themselves or take control...  they can only cry.

The Contingent Sheens-Nation, a human civilization, has some good ones.

Ase, "Ase":  Ase was often depicted as a skeletal male human and was associated with death, suicide, and children.

Atac, "Atac":  Atac was often depicted as a male human and was associated with murder.  (Attack?)

Best of all:
Maga Gulshebnullung, "Maga Mucousbuttock":  Maga was often depicted as a male human and was associated with depravity.

That god of suicides and children is fucking fantastic. As is the male buttock-god of depravity.

Regarding my earlier male god of pregnancies, there's nothing "fail" about him if you consider that you generally need males if you want a pregnancy, unless you're talking about species capable of asexual reproduction (and those don't usually create gods). But that has probably been said already.
