I take off my dagger and place it on the table and try to convince the old geezer that my dagger is a cursed item of inverse and that Diakron's sock is a cursed sock of horrible luck, then point out that if he were to combine the items, he would have the dagger to change the sock's horrible luck to incredably good luck and to trade these two items for the key.

I ask to examine the key and for a description of the door to compare them with what I know of door and key construction. (If I actually know anything about door and key construction that would be a nice bonus!) If I get it I will try to secretly drop some dust or something over my glove while holding the key to get an outline. If that fails I am willing to offer 100 towards buying it, obviously money is no object for me, but 1000 is clearly ridiculous...

TURN: 2 Unlucky stairs

go upstairs and check the rooms for people sleeping.

You (1) attempt to walk upstairs but fall down and(5) manage to catch yourself and(8) do a flying leap upstairs (7) where you find it packed with people.

ask people to give to the needy, and to save time give to me and i'll "give" it to the "needy"

You(3) ask around and almost get some donations

go looking for someone ho bugs me so i can kill them and take their stuff.

You (1) attempt to kill one of the drunken singers but trip and fall. You twist your ankle (Minus 1 from next turns rolls involving your feet)
