"Awaiting player action" or equivalent message
« on: February 26, 2008, 02:19:00 am »

I've got a 1.4ghz Intel Pentium 4 and 512MB of very aged, mixed RAM. Adventure mode sites with huge populations can slow me down a lot. I'm pretty sure this hasn't been asked, but if it has, please be gentle.

It's hard to tell if the game is waiting for me to move or if it's moving extremely slowly. I often end up accidentally moving, several times, sending my poor adventurer on a death match into enemy territory. *Unless* an enemy or ally nearby has a blinking icon; if it isn't blinking, I know something is happening.

Could I request an init option for some sort of status icon or blinking icon on the screen somewhere that can inform the player when the game is waiting for a command?

Hm, that could be useful.  if it was only one tile in size and put inside the location notice box on the upper left to avoid covering the game area.

agreed. Maneuvering my adventurer through town has almost become more effort than it is worth - I keep overshooting doorways.
