I think I'm just going to play normally for once.  I've got a megaproject underway right now and I don't really feel like starting another one just because the combat mechanics changed.

I'm already putting the finishing touches on the megastructure to end all megastructures in the current version (and one that will never again be rivaled in 2nd-gen DF, due to the proximity of the upcoming superrelease), so I'll take a break from in-game megaprojects for a while.

No, the project I will start when the new version is finally released will be a modding megaproject: after a few mini-releases to familiarize myself with the new version's capabilities and raw file nuances, I will create one of the first completely new total conversion mods for 3rd-gen DF.

Hell yeah.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

Another interesting thing, is just build another world end machine, wait for a siege, start the machine, and send everyone who is in the map to hell!
That should win an (game) oscar award

....

I think I'll build a colossal statue that cries tears of goblin blood.

I like your style.

Glad to hear that someone is willing to tackle the new raw files.

I want to make a creature that's got flammable tissues, and thus blows itself up when it attempts to use its Fireball ability.

Modding:

Add Cactaur as a civ, possibly replacing Elves, and use the anatomy system to construct... the Nightmare Demon.

Hellephant.

I like your style.

There are two ways to do it: Either I fill the statue's head with vicious animals, or if they're in next version, I make a descending ceiling to act like a gigantic wine press.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

What if the statue held its hands cupped beneath its face so that its tears pooled in its palms? Degree of difficulty would increase but its not like you're afraid of ambition.

Hmm, after playing normally once or twice, my plan is to make a penal camp of sorts.  Have 20 or so dwarves be the guards, everyone else gets thrown into the underground caverns to live.  They have to feed themselves and protect themselves, and they have no picks to dig out more.

marble tower is froxzen environment, only mines and stockpiles underground ( no underground farming. i'll have an underground well however. probably.

actually, i didn't know it was frozen when i started... i hoped it would melt in summer. unluckly, only a small part of the map, with few water pools, melts for few days in mid summer. it will all be built with marble blocks and wooden blocks ( wood for floors). i hope moss grows in that kind of environment

Does anybody know what the future plan for flowing blood is? Is that even going to be in the next version?
I mean, in the 40d versions, that would be impossible to do. Because blood isn't a fluid, it's just a coating.
