Don't hold your breath for the Tau one any time soon. You'd likely see Necrons first; never mind the other factions they've got to update for 5th.

There's ovbiously codex rumours for all the races floating around at the moment, but the two most consistant ones are Nids and Toasters. Dark Eldar are also up there for liklihood as they really desperately need updating, although it's also likely the DE will get phased out.

Tau are still perfectly playable and relatively balanced (they took some hits, but gained new stuff as well), wheras Toasters and Dark Eldar are in desperate need of updatin.

I don't think this has been posted but I think it deserved to be considering this is a 40k thread
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-warhammer-40-000/50452

I am a little dissapointed that it's ultramarines but the narration never actual said Ultramarines. Maybe there will be an option to pick/design your chapter.

Interestingly, Armok's name actually originates from arm_ok, a variable in one of Toady's earlier games that kept track of how many of your arms weren't missing.

I'd like to point out this is a 40k tabletop thread as is stated in the first post.

That said, the trailer is cool, but then again, all Marines in all Warhammer 40k trailers are cool, so it does not tell me much.

They've already said that Ultramarines are only a placeholder.

My bet is on Moar Blood Ravens.

The sad part is the only way they'd satisfy everyone is if they put in ALL of the chapters.

Which will never happen.

I don't see how they couldn't. Some color replacement, change a few symbols, and presto, you have all the chapters without even radically changing the model.

So the other night I played a game against a Tau army, which had several vehicles using Disruption pods. He insisted that pods gave cover saves, I thought they just reduced range. I let it slide and checked a tau codex this morning. I was right, which is annoying because that's how he won the game.

He had several other rules which he quoted older editions on, so I'm wondering if it was a version issue. Have disruption pods ever given cover saves?

In the Fifth Edition core rulebook, a vehicle obscured by a special upgrade gets an automatic +4 cover save. Disruption pods are included in this. He was right.

And moar Bald.  Lots moar Bald.  And probably atrocious scripts and voice acting, but I expect that from all games.

In the Fifth Edition core rulebook, a vehicle obscured by a special upgrade gets an automatic +4 cover save. Disruption pods are included in this. He was right.

Now the question is, does this fifth edition fix replace the effect in the codex, or compliment it?  Because the former sounds a lot more likely to me, just for feasibility.  But I guess it depends on what the guy claimed.

Relic's games weren't as bad in that department as whoever made Soulstorm, but yes.  Everyone will be bald.  Even the women will be bald.
