I just had a thought - basic bitmaps, with a grid for inches, icons for models, posted army lists, email or tinypic to transfer pics, honor system and so forth.  Just dump the recalcitrant program and do it longhand.

That's cool and all, but the program isn't that complex.  I'm convinced some of you are just doing something wrong, because it's not hard to use.

Also, your solution has the lamentable problem of taking forever.

Are there model stats or do we have to use our own codices?

You have to use your own Codices.  If they had put the actual stats for stuff in the module, GW probably would've sent actual Space Marines to kill them.

Aquizzar has a point.
If everybody has a APS/Gimp/etc which supports layers, it should not be too hard.
...I dont think there is a method for moving a selection X distance in random direction?
...a dummylayer with a set of radiusXYZ circles would work for maximum movement distance.
Preparing all the required props would probably take less time than you guys have been throwing at this program by now.

It's better than play by webcam and webchat with robotic arm.

Just to be clear, I'm fine with trying to get the program to work since it'll probably save a lot of work in the long run.  I was merely commenting on how frustrating the damn thing is.

I've been reading up on them, and apparently Thunderfire Cannons are only worth the points if you have two of them, so I'll just go with a Vindicator.

Yeah, here's what I'll probably go with.  I'm betting heavily on bunches of Orkz to shoot and for Akigagak to kill any armor, so he'd better deliver, although the Vindicator could probably take out tanks'n'such if he doesn't.

Unless I'm mistaken, I see 18 Fire Warriors, 3 Piranhas, and 6 Crisis Suits, up against 3 Infantry Squads, a Heavy Weapon Team, and two Command Squads (one a Platoon Leader right?).  Call me crazy, but I think you fielded a Hell of a lot more points worth of Tau than Guardsmen.
