The Sergeant's one attack is exactly what I said, I know he was altering the weapons of the five Scouts, and check the Summary page.  Assault Cannons only shoot 24", and always have.
Whatever, you are right.

Autocannon is better

Speaking of autocannons...

Meh, Orks still out-shoot the guard at certain ranges.

Why splurge on the Plasma/Powersword combo for the Commander and then give his underlings sniper rifles?

Why don't the Veterans have any weapons but lasguns?

There's other things I might do differently, but your options are certainly limited at 500 points.

Note to self - stop giving tactical advice to potential enemies.

Yeah, good idea Aqizzar, I don't know why I did that, I think I remembered that Guardsmen should avoid combat, but forgot to change his weapons to something sensible.
Spoiler: Army list, again (click to show/hide)

Same points as before because I just traded the two commanders weapons for better equipment for the men.

I haven't included the things I get for free, such as the Chimeras' smoke grenades and spotlight.

EDIT: Yeahh...

Now, how do I save it so I don't have to do this again?

File > Save

If you mean so we can start a new game and you'll retain that, well...  I dunno.

Anyway, first game of Warhams is complete.  I made some silly mistakes, like playing a unit's movement phase and shooting phase together, without resolving other units' movement, but other than that I think I understand the rules pretty well.

Also, Ultramarines got dominated, despite the board favoring them somewhat.  It was them against Imperial Fists.  Smurf Dreadnought got knocked out in like the second turn, only killed two or something guys, they couldn't seem to drop the IF Dreadnought though and it closed to melee with the captain's combat squad.  They got hammered.  Snipers didn't really do much on either side, and just kind of sat there taking pot shots at each other.  The two flanking combat squads met in the middle and assaulted.  Smurfs lost that one too.  After that all that was left was the scout sergeant who failed his morale save and the Dreadnought cut him down as he was running.

I think I love this game.
