Yeah, you will probably have to get the DakkaLadz on combat eventually. Which is why I suggest a Pk or Burna. Also a DEFF DREDD MUST HAVE 4 Weapons, not 2. And you messed up on points IIRC

Deff Dredd-110
2 DCCW
2 Rokkit Launchas
Extra Armour
Grot Riggers

Says here that it ALREADY has two Close Combat weapons.

I chose another C&C weapon, and a rokkit launcha. 15 and 10 points respectively.

Where did i fudge my points?

I thought that was pretty well implied already by not having Dawn of War in the title.

I chose another C&C weapon, and a rokkit launcha. 15 and 10 points respectively.

What I want to know is, why you think that rokkit launcha (or the kustom mega-blasta for that matter) is any kind of a good investment.  Between the short range and Orks' BS of 2, you'll probably hit once in the game.

Meh, the Dread charges into combat, it's mostly to deter the morons who attempt to assault the thing with their own vehicle.

I could theoretically destroy any non-superheavy vehicle in one shot.

I think...

That's kind of what I'm saying.  The Dread is already Strength 10 (and the rokkit is only 8 ), and you have a better chance of hitting with another close combat weapon.  But what do you mean by "Assault with their own vehicle"?  Only walkers like the Dread can assault, and it's a pretty good match for even a Marine Dread (you have more attacks, but it has better Initiative).  And yeah, it can rip any other vehicle apart no problem, provided it can catch something.

I'd be more worried about it being tied down with a mob of scrubs it would have to kill one at a time.  In that case you'd be better served by a skortcha.

Many ork vehicles have the ability to assault people.

It deters shit, i don't know, i'll play a couple games with it (Need to make Him first SCRATCHBUILD WOO!) and see how they go.

My regular opponent will usually be a deathguard player, so i need all the heavy weapons i can get.

What should i use as a base for my dread?

I believe you're confusing Assault and Tank Shock.  One leads to an ongoing engagement, the other does not.

I think the Dread model can stand on it's own, but cut up model sprues make great urban-rubble terrain.

A "wreckin' ball" can be mounted on some Ork vehicles, in the assault phase, it can deliver one strength nine blow to one enemy unit on a 4+ within 2".

Game, set and match my dear chin.

I want to scratchbuild all of my vehicles.

I'm calling that a Draw.  It's still not an Assault, because the other vehicle can just drive away in it's turn.

Also, your Orky vehicles are gimped under the 5th Edition shooting rules.  Strength 5 guns, i.e. Big Shootas, are no longer defensive weapons, so if the vehicle moves you can only fire one of them.

Unless you play with a house rule that dumps that retarded distinction for the sake of sanity.

I wouldn't use a wreaking ball on my Trukk. If I could get it (or a battlewagon) that close to an enemy vehicle, then I'm playing a moron.

I'll go with the house rule.

Trukkz only have one gun anyway, either a Big shoota, or a Rokkit.

I'm outfitting my Trukkz with the bare minimum, anyway, seeing as they are basically for cover and fast movement.

I should probably get a copy of the fifth edition rules anyway. Or any copy of the rules.

Now, i wonder... where did i get that other book from? Hmmmmmmm...

(Oh, and i bought an ork codex, it's next to me here, and very useful)

I was in doubt between unmarked grey or painted jumppacks...
I've decided to do red/yellow markings on my packs (as my earlier units had):

Also several of my bloodclaws in background.
Should I paint all my (on foot) BCs with the tigerstripes?

nonononono. The Trukk can move 18", fire no weapons, 12" fire 1 weapon, 6 fire all, 0 fire all.

And if a trukk goes above 45 pts you are spending too much.

bump!

Just visited my local GW and got away with a bunch of slayers.
I'm not 100% sure about the wolf plastics... maybe I'll get some from saint Nick.

I don't think I'll be modding the dwarves.

Is there a kit available of space wolf parts? (I should have asked the shopkeeper) a kit would come in handy for modding bikes etc to look a bit more wolfey.
