'ard topped, thanks very much.
Ard case, thank you very much.

Right you are.

Also, a 750 point army means there's not enough room for more than one big shoota and unfortunately I can't paint it red.

Why are none of you online during a weekday afternoon?

C'mon, I've got a hideous 500 point Guard list I want to test run.

But then, life was also easier when I was running around here pretending to be a man, so I guess I should just "man up" and get back to work.

I officially proved Neruz wrong in my 500pt game yesterday. My hideously small 500pt Necron Army was trapped between a Tyranid and an IG player. I compounded the matter by splitting my army up to face both fronts.

Not only did I beat down a Hive Tyrant and his guard in MELEE, but I took out a squad of penal legionairres (with rending close combat) in melee as well. I was actually coming second, as the Tyranid player was all but wiped out by the IG and by my melee luck. If I hadn't had to leave, I might have even won (although that's unlikely).

So much for Necrons suck in melee, Neruz :P

Even Tau can win in melee if the dice like them enough.

One instance does not a point make. 40k is sufficiently randomised thanks to the dice that it's impossible to build a case off a single game.

Yeah, it's entirely possible for a single unit of guardsmen to take down a demon prince with nary a casualty, albeit extremely unlikely. Dice are dice.

Example, remember the 25+ saves I failed two days ago? about ten of those were 4+ cover saves. Some of the saves this guy survived included three heavy weapons and 29 hits.

Proved that army hideous.  I lost one squad and a Ratling compared to Akigagak's entire army.  It wasn't fair.

Apparently bringing alone a tank and a lighting bomb makes Akigagaks army shit themselves and die.
