Uh, if you're up for it now(ish). If not I'm just going to finish working out a tyranid list and go to sleep. I have to get up in nine hours and I'd like to get more than four or five hours of sleep, so we'd have to start soon.

I'd quite like to play a 500 point game if anyone's up for it. Army here, boring old marines.

Seriously, I'm trying for any other sort of line up, this one's so boring.

I'm up for a game, despite having never played before. I'll be playing Necrons.

Hooboy.

Toasters. I've heard stories. This should be fun.

EDIT: Craaaaaap. I'm heading out now. Sorry.

When I get back, I'll try out my new Ork army. I built a 500 point one and it was considerably more fun than building a SM army.

Agh. Doesn't matter, as I'm still trying to figure out how to work Vassal. Some other time.

EDIT:
How would I go about playing a single player game? Would I have to control both sides?

Also, my deployment is saved under Player 2. Would that present a problem in Multiplayer?

You did it with "begin logfile" *clone army* "end logfile"? Then no, it won't. If someone else is using that box you can just move their troops aside a little so you can select yours safely. If you saved it as a game, it won't work. Read the v40k userguide that came with it to see how to do what I said above. And yeah, you'd have to control both sides. There's no ai or real game mechanics in the mod, just playing pieces and dice.

This is the 500 (499, actually) point Tau army I came up with a few days ago, it uses the crisis suits and commander as anti infantry, two broadsides as antitank, and two fire warrior teams as "I had to take this but it has no real point":

Of course, I don't know how it plays. I just know I intended to use the crisis suits the way I used those jetbikes, jump out from behind impassable terrain, fire, jump back, while the broadsides lay down long range anti-armor, and the fire teams sit in cover by them and keep them as safe as possible, should worst come to worst. Could probably be made into a decent 750 point army, to flesh it out a bit more.

Okay, I've learned three things.

One, Space Marines are boring to play for me.
Two, I love Orks.
Three, FUCKING TOASTERS I HATE YOU SO MUCH WHAT IS THIS NO INVULNERABLE SAVE WHY AND THEN YOU MOVE 24" WITHOUT WASTING A SHOT AND PHASE IN AND OUT THROUGH COVER WITH AN INVULNERABLE SAVE AND YOUR BASIC GUN CAN WRECK A HEAVY VEHICLE AND I NEED TO GO LIE DOWN.

I will play you again Neruz. And, oh yes, there will be a reckoning.

Tee hee, i've been wanting to try the 3x3 Wraith deployment for awhile now, it turned out to be horrendously effective, i must remember that setup.

Anyone up for a 500 or 750 point game?

Also, I just realized, we could probably play Space Hulk with this.

The advanced stabilization systems are a waste on the crisis suits, since they don't have any heavy weapons, and the crisis suit itself allows you to fire rapidfire weapons when moving as though you hadn't moved. Don't know what to recommend in their place though. I can guess, but I have no experience playing at them to back anything up.

That would be true, except for the fact that broadsides have railguns on them

But the crisis suits don't. On the broadsides it's... I don't know, might work, might not, I don't know, no personal experience.
