Sounds like my nightbringer cult basilisk, well, kind of nightbringery wreck. The barrel fell off so i painted it black and stuck a monolith crystal in the crater. It still counts as a basilisk because vampiric energy rays totally function the same way as HE shells.
That is both heretical and awesome.
I have my local precinct militia commissar on the phone. Dont go anywhere.

We thought up a new concept that we would appreciate ideas for: Soviet weeaboo space commies Tau. Including stolen imperial gear like red railgun banebaldes covered in hammer-and-sicles.

Go for it.  I just wish I could find those old semi-Soviet Tau propaganda posters Brian Clevenger made.  That Hammer-and-Pulserifle symbol is still his avatar though.

Righty-ho gentlemen!

Here is the first of a large, large WAAGH! Apologies for the very low picture quality, but it's the best i have.

Please, any criticism and complaints, tell me! Anything at all!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

He's slightly converted, as you may be able to see, the Slugga arm is actually from a choppa fron the sprue, which i hated, and the ammo belt was fitted due to the gun having no visible means of acquiring boolits with which to smash puny babies.

I increased the size of the images because it makes it easier to see detail.

That, and i forgot to put the "messageboard" resizing on them. (Sorry)

Please put forth any words about thingies!

Didn't you know? Ork guns don't actually need a visible means of loading boolets; if they think it will work, then it will work.

That's why the Orks carry around lots of ammo they never actually use.

The yellow makes them kind of look like construction workers with high visibility jackets on.

Thin yer paints

No, no.  I don't actually have enough experience with painting to make any judgments on the quality, all I know is that everyone has to thin their paints.  If you thin them already, you don't do it enough.  I think you're actually supposed to paint with water.

Thin them?

They are quite thin already, what exactly has made you say this Cthulhu? I believe him to be quite thinly painted...

Hmmm...

I'll go get him and have a look.

I don't know, the paint looks alright to me, the colors are just really flat.  The yellow especially makes it stand out, like he's wearing a plastic baseball helmet or something.  If you can weather and break up the colors, especially the large smooth areas, it'll look more natural.

Also, crop your images.  I understand enlarging them to see the detail but we don't need to see your table too.

Have one of them be colorblind so he can't see yellow, or rather, confuses it for pink.

See for yourself.

Yeah, sorry about the image size and uncroppedness, it was late, and i didnt have any of the nessescary programs.

I agree about the flatness of the colours in some places, it's seriously not as glaring in real life pretty glaring. i attemptedto highlight a bit, but it's subtle and dosent show at all in the pictures, i'll likely be chipping the paint some, maybe adding battle damage aswell, during the campaign i'm in.

I'm not sure though,i'm quite pleased with this guy, he's the best painted model i have.

(Oh, and Cthulhu, it may be because i hand-undercoat my models, i don't have any spray yet, and i wanted to test out the scheme.)

Hehe, sounds interesting, boski. i might have it so there's a tin of paint on his base, saying "Pink" and two eyepatches on the guy.

MSPaint.  As for the yellow, maybe that drybushing thing I always hear about?  Brownish tones might be good.
