Ok guys, the wierdest thing happened to me on DF last night.

I had a desert fortress, well into its 4th year, doing all sweet. Had loads of space; was well organised;strong military... Basically an ideal fortress. Then, immigrants came. I thought, oh sweet! My dudes could use some help.
But when all 15 of the immigrants came out of the edge of the map... The ingame announcer said...

"X has been struck by a strange mood!"
I didn't catch the name of the person as another message came straight away after it...  So I clicked "A" to see the announcement...

What the...?
I had ALL 15 immigrants simultaneously get possessed within 20 seconds of entering the map.
Also, they didn't have any names. They're names were " ".
Within a few (game) months they went insane and there was so much clothes strewn around you'd think H.G Well's Martians invaded.

I forgot to take screenshots so I loaded back and the exact same thing happened. Except this time I pressed "Prn Scr." on my keyboard.
Then my computer crashed. Now the gamefile is corrupted.

What the heck?

This is called a "glitch". 

It's not a bug, since you're the only(?) person to report it.  Stuff like this happens on computers.

I'd erase and reload DF, and shrug and write it off as a once-only occurrence.

Amusing glitch though. Too bad they didn't make a rush for their respected shops and churned out 15 artifacts in a row.

Hey, no need to patronize me. Besides, before I tried to take the screenshot it happened again. It was the first time it had ever happened, all the other times immigrants came it never occured. It doesn't now.

Yeah, that would have been cool and no, they didn't

They came as " Ranger" and " Stoneworker" when the norm is "Urist 'Dorfy' Mcdorf, Ranger".

You asked a very basic question with a very simple (and obvious?) answer, and I had no idea what your understanding of computers was. 

Notice no one else has expanded on my very simple answer - nothing more to say, so how was I patronizing?  Must all just be avoiding patronizing you as well.  More polite if I'd pretended you had said nothing I suppose.
