I really liked flow, despite it's lack of any sort of introduction, instruction, or save feature.

I got to the second form, then decided that enough was enough.

Well, I've been working on an incredibly simple sim-style df-themed game if you'd care to try it...

Other than that, I second Stranded 2 and NetHackCortex Command isn't really free, but there's a good demo available if you'd prefer something more along the lines of action/shooter game.  Liberal Crime Squad (Bay12Games :P) is a lot of fun too, although I've yet to really understand the full game...

On the Wall is a Masterfully engraved carving of Urist McHardcastle and Goblins. Urist McHardcastle is surrounded by the Goblins. The Golbins are stamping on Urist McHardcastle. Urist McHardcaste is laughing at the Goblins. The carving related to the prolonged and bloody death of Urist McHardcastle in the Fall of 1659, the Winter of 1659, and the Spring of 1660. On the engraving is an image of Cheese.

I'll do that... I haven't played for a little while, and I never really did get very far though, so don't expect anything interesting :P

Ground control has been released for free here, but you'll have to fill out a form with personal info (so in a sense they still make money ;))

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

It's still pirating even though you probably won't get pursued for it.

it's not like you get pursued for pirating in the first place (barring being unlucky in some few determinate countries)
