I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.

No, Godwin's Law requires Hitler, or Nazi's. We've come close, Rowanas mentioned the Reich and TheDJ17 mentioned the Master Sandwich, but it's not quite Godwin's Law yet.

By saying that, you just invoked Godwin's law in your post saying we hadn't invoked Godwin's law :D

Actually no, Godwin's Law (Appended) states that as an internet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1.

So far, no comparison involving Nazis or Hitler has been made, and thus Godwin's Law remains uninvoked.

Additionally, Quirk's Exception states that Godwin's Law cannot be invoked intentionally; the invoker of Godwin's Law must be attempting to make a comparison with Nazis or Hitler, rather than attempting to invoke Godwin's Law.

What are you, a Godwin's Law nazi?

Nice try.

As an additional note, attaching moral judgment to Godwin's law falls prey to the ad hominem fallacy, i.e. saying that a person's argument is wrong because they had the bad taste to bring up Hitler is a logically unsound argument.

You know who those people who keep randomly invoking Godwin's law are like?

See? Nothing bad happened. Be mature, when making or invoking dick-jokes!

Anyways: Mushrooms DO look a bit phallic in some cases. But I allways thought of dem helmets to look like mario goombas. Might be because of the symbol of cause.

How many of you read these forums at work? I was just wondering, because I'm pretty sure your filtering service would have closed off the wonderful world of DF forums already if it was going to do it now.

P.S. Why has a discussion about cock-mushrooms got 9 pages of replies? Mermaid baby farms, sure. Kitten tallow roasts, fine. But aren't cock jokes a little beneath us?

Back on topic, dwarves get an unhappy thought from eating only one food.

I've never got that, but my dwarves have gotten tired of drinking the same booze.

It happens about three times as fast with booze, since they drink more of it.

That's cause dwarves usually have a healthy diet of plump helmets and turtles.

...and to the best of my knowledge (IE: I THIIIINK...) it completely resets if they eat anything different, so if you go on a short plant gathering spree, you're covered.

Its' actually called the Reductio Ad Hitlerum fallacy, but otherwise yes.

Now make of this what you will, but my current fort's civilization is the Torch of Women. Their symbol? A Plump Helmet.
