you mean like
urist mcfarmer cancels plant: needs pig tail seeds?
i agree it needs more reasons but i like the way it is done now.

i mean more along the lines of how the hell does one of these damn dwarves misplace an object that they are holding when they are halfway to a damn stockpile(among other things)

but thats a different thread....

so............what was the original topic again?

What, you've ne'er misplaced an object when it's in your hand (still, e'en?)

And no, not the only one. Though I am e'er-mindful that yes, mushrooms are fungal sex organs, just like flowers for plants.

And apples are babies!

I love eating apples. :'(

You've ruined it for me.

Nah. Just apple seeds.

Technically the entire apple is the baby, it's just that the flesh is an expendable evolutionary add-on to make you eat the apple and spread the seeds around; something which, of course, our own babies do not have any need for.

That's like saying the eggshell's part of the chick. Besides, an apple has many seeds, each of which can independently become a tree or not, so your analogy fails.

So.. it's like a baby that has babies?

So it's like a thick meat covering that entices you to eat it and spread several babies around.

The eggshell is a part of the egg...

So an apple is a tree egg!

That is the sexiest description of an apple I have ever heard. I can't decide whether that makes it really clever, or just really weird.
