I'll try, but I warn you, what I don't know about computers could fill a warehouse. If I attempt to update the wiki, and somehow cause the entire internet to implode, then I'm not taking full responsibility.

EDIT: I think I managed to link the latest version of LCS to the wiki. It does look a little messier than usual,
        however...

I think it's related to one of my members escaping from the deathsquads while carrying the corpse of one of his fallen comrades. After he escaped his squad dissolved and when I remade it, his name was listed as NAME + H, as if he was still carrying someone.

Strangely, when looking at his skills, there was odd graphical glitching - white lines all over the skills portion of the screen.

The link you provide is the latest version... I can click it and look in my browser and verify it's the latest source.

The latest revision is 339. Which one are you getting? And where is it listing the version number for you that you're reading 3.11.3svn from? (It's possible that it's working correctly, but there's a version number that's out of date somewhere.)

From the final compiled version on the main screen. Getting the windows version shows the proper one, 4.00.5. Until a sec ago I was using the ChangeLog file, but that hasn't ben updated in two years, heh.

Just ran the version that was actually stored IN the src directory after compiling, and it is definitely still showing the old version.

If it is right when actually looking at the site, is there any way to download it all without going through every single file individually?

Also, how are you verifying it is the new version. Maybe there's just an issue with the makefile.

includes.h lists the version number at the top of the file.

Try specifically checking out revision 339, since that should be the latest one.

lol, okay. That did it. Just had to learn how to tell svn to checkout a specific revision. Excellent! I no longer have to use wine or another computer though ironically I'm probably going to be playing the game on windows through ssh to my linux box...I'm weird.

Spoiler includes process, rambling, and a suggestion for how to change the code to deal with sitemaps.txt so it works automagically without having to keep it in the current directory.

It still doesn't automatically move sitemaps.txt into a place where it can be used, but it does work if you have workspaces as your current directory or if it's in ~/.lcs, so that's good.

It seems like the whole thing could be made completely transparent though by moving sitemaps.txt into the art dir instead of the main one, and adding at 16 in configfile.cpp that grabs artdir[MAX_PATH_SIZE] from lcsio.cpp and uses it as the prefix. It gets initialized outside of a function, and you can make a call to LCSInitArtDir to fill it...I don't really understand enough to know if there's anything else that would be needed. But I do know that I can't figure out how to do a simple append string thingy in c++ to make that happen, so...yeah. Being able to read code without being able to write it is really weird.


Edit: Okay, I totally lied about it working if you put it in ~/.lcs - Apparently I had always had it in the current directory.

Further Edit: Okay...while the version I got from svn checkout was most definitely not the right one(it was full of references to the old version. Weeeeird) After verifying the source of the 339 revision, I was definitely using 4.00.5, but running crimesquad after compiling and installing still said 3.11....whateversvn. Checkde for references to the version again. There were three in the makefile. Fixed that, and it now shows up properly when compiled. updated the tar.gz archive with the new makefile.

Only...it actually doesn't fix things. It's deeper in...Oh, it's only one line in configure.ac - hah.
Now the tar.gz has only a the change of the base file version number in configure.ac, and a converted unix-style sitemaps.txt

Have an interesting bug.  Got notification on imminent raid on downtown apartment safehouse.  Middle of interrogating/converting an Agent.  Day 4.  My founder was wearing a deathsquad outfit.  Engaged and escaped option, then bluffed my way out.  Gave the disbanded and lay low message.  Next day, listed founder and Agent captive as "Away" in unit list.  Crashed with failed assertion on attempting to do Day 5 interrogation menu.
