In celebration of the fact that you can now choose from several different starting scenarios, including a classic mode with no enemy crime squad, the version number has been advanced to 4.0. Well, that and I just really wanted the version number to start with a 4 for once.

Version 4.00.5-Replaced the "Massive Conservative Response" text with more discriptive, enemy-specific text. Replaced the "imminent" warning with "Evacuating Area" to explain the lack of encounters after the response arrives.
-Made encounters stop spawning when massive conservative response occurs. Yes, you can clean out the building at that point. You just have to get past the siege units by the front door on your way out.
-Made SWAT teams be the default massive conservative response to most sites, instead of gang units or street cops. Death squads will still respond in place of SWAT teams, if available.
-Fixed bug where raiding SWAT teams would mysteriously vanish when you walked into their tile, instead of attacking you.
-Fixed profile display bug for androgenous characters wanted for crimes who were born in months with long names.
-Fixed display bug with abortion news stories.
-Fixed a minor bug with police attempting to arrest people spraying graffiti.
-Fixed freeze bug with hitting corpses for whom all of their body parts have been blown apart.

Also note that the Professional Thief's downtown apartment is $300/month cheaper than the downtown apartments normally are. Additionally, the first month for all of these is free.
Version 4.00.4a-Fixed crash bug when you kill a police officer during a street arrest (selling brownies, burying corpses, wanted...).

Version 4.00A very abridged list of features:
- You can see the heat and secrecy levels of your safehouses. The math behind these are more simple and easier to intuit from playing.
- You can see the infiltration level of your sleepers precisely. This is the percent chance that any sleeper action will succeed. Too many failures, and the sleeper will quit being a sleeper or be arrested.
- Sleeper lawyers are no longer guaranteed to be available, unless the person on trial is their lover. They now serve for free, however. Judges, lawyers, and other specials all roll on their infiltration here, so a more difficult brainwashed conservative lawyer will be more consistently available than an easy seduced liberal one.
- You can set up changes the starting scenario using a couple of options.
- Club security is now more heavily armed.
- You can see the most critical thing a character is wanted for on their full profile.
- Juice gains are doubled across the board.
- Certain recruits may come with a criminal record.
- Various other changes that hopefully will make the game more fun.
