Well, we can still try to discuss the linked advertisement in an above-board manner.  For instance-

1) I want to meet the guy who's eager to get into the advertising business, and agrees to take a job describing crap like this in commercials.  I know I shouldn't be surprised, but how do you put out a want ad for that job?

2) Anyone else been to Medieval Times?  Remember "The Pear" and other stuff from the "Hall of Perverted Nightmare Machines" tour?  That's what that thing looks like, The Peeler, especially when it slides apart.

3) Either the perception of scale is screwed up and that thing is the size of a milk jug, or their chrome "demonstration model" is the width of a pencil.  Aaand so much for staying above board...

I laughed when they mentioned the wing gate - obviously supposed to represent the cervix, something not meant to be penetrated. I almost died when they started pouring water on it. But the number one thing to remember is the kind of people who use these things. From some study i had read somewhere, the most people in japan that use these kinds of things are 1)salespeople, 2)people who are married to those salespersons, and 3)Otakus who cant get none.

which just so happens to be a large chunk of the consumer market, for most men who have a good job are usually away from home for long periods at a time, or are god-forsaken Otakus who cant get none due to lack of social skills or wish to fantasize about some game/anime character.


as for size.... things like that are in various sizes.... and are usually more......malleable when used for....non demonstrative pourposes...

That was in some ways funny, and it some ways extremely disturbing.  If you're penetrating the cervix, then something's going extremely wrong.  We probably shouldn't be joking about Otakus - they may be obsessive, but they should still have the common sense to keep their delicate parts out of that thing.

I saw, to be honest, an ad agency desperate to try to come up with a convincing advert for something that's creepy as a concept and downright terrifying as an actual item.
