Turn one: Whats in the box?

[1] You don't see a reason to open the chest. You probably need to get motivate to open it.
Guess I had better find anything useful inside the chest.
[4] You open the chest. there is a flash of light and a {item check:6} Burning book is inside. You barely make out the title
The Burning Book of Flame Spells, Volume 1. [4+1 (intelligent)] You remember an obscure text and tell the book to behave then pick it up. It doesn't burn you. Huh, guess all that time around books helped you out.
The chest closes after you take your item.
Me as well, I suppose.
[4] You decide that you can do anything they can do better, so you walk over to the chest stylishly. {item Check: 2} However, there seems to be nothing in it when you open it... damn!
The room Glows brightly and when it stops a new guy appears he introduces himself as Jets. {reaction role: 5} After all the weirdness you have seen today nothing surprise you. The group quickly votes to accept Jets into the group. Daemon looks downfallen, he wanted to kill him.

[4] Things are going too well, but in your experience Luck favors the prepared. You are now Activly looking for trouble +1 to any rolls governing surprises in this room. [2] You don't see anything of use in the room. Maybe you should check out that chest...
Look in the chest! but keep a watchful eye out for peeps.
[1] You cant be careful you are TOO Reckless (reckless will give a -1 penalty to being careful but you rolled a 1). {Item Check: 5} You open the chest, a flash of light later and a Iron Chain mail shirt appears. (-2 to slash damage +1 to slim item damage). You remember that equipping an item is a free action but decide not to at this time.
I stand back, and help anybody who was hurt by anything in the chest. If no-one was hurt, I'll look in the chest and see what's there.
(You are naturally willing to help and protect people (helpful, friendly, EMT) so you get a free action anytime someone is ambushed or takes surprise damage)
[5] You carefully approach the chest noticing a sense of benevolence around it. {IC: 5} The flash of light surrounds you! You gain Heal Minor Wounds!
I search the room for exits, and check to see if there are any weapons.
[4] Seeing no immediate exits (in other words general searches reveal general openings) with your quick glances but manage to open the chest with no problems {IC: 4} After the expect lights you find a 9mm Beretta handgun with [4] 4 12 round magazines with [3] 2 of them filled. the gun is unloaded. You scoop it up and pocket the mags.
Environment roll [2] Nothing seems out of the ordinary.
Perception: [6] Steadman suddenly spins around and sniffs the air. He voices the fact that there is a fresh breeze in here, so, logically, there has to be an opening you have yet to find.
