I'm not looking forward to listening to my funky ass voice.
Your voice was fine, but I think your mic needs to be turned up a bit...

On the Wall is a Masterfully engraved carving of Urist McHardcastle and Goblins. Urist McHardcastle is surrounded by the Goblins. The Golbins are stamping on Urist McHardcastle. Urist McHardcaste is laughing at the Goblins. The carving related to the prolonged and bloody death of Urist McHardcastle in the Fall of 1659, the Winter of 1659, and the Spring of 1660. On the engraving is an image of Cheese.

[Toady is All hearing, All seeing!]

I thought it was getting better than previous ones - the breaks were usually well placed. Sometimes, I felt they didn't have good placements. There sometimes would just be a sudden break - no need to be one.

Yeah, we spent like two days before the recording trying to get the volume on my mic up to an acceptable level. I has to be practically down my throat for some reason for skype to pick up on it.

Sigh... I'll try harder.  Those breaks were for "editing control."

Wow.

I just got to the Lion, Sheep, and elephant part, and burst out laughing.  Because I wasn't expecting that at ALL.  Nice.

The reason it seems like Toady shouldn't have been able to hear me is simply because of the difference in volume during recording and playback. Because the method used to record stores all sound from skype as a single channel, there isn't a way to equalize volume without a lot of extra work.

What a great way to close out - Toady singing about Scamps, then a crazy unedited segment of Toady trying to snakecharm his computer and The Return of Kobold Quest!

Working on it now and it'll probably be done in about 4-5 days, but I get access to it at the same time as everyone else, so apologies.

Still listening, but a quick thought:

At one point during the talk someone (I forget who) mentioned the concept of dwarves leaving the fortress on personal matters ("My grandmother is sick"), and the problem of players getting irritated when dwarves just wander off.  I was thinking, what if this sort of things replace the current "On Break" system?  I.E. Dwarves don't go "On Break" but instead they have reasons to either leave, or at least stop working (a period of mourning after the death of a friend maybe?).

What do you think?

Please give it at the other thread, the questions, I mean.

Still... I'm downloading it as now. I'm looking forward to it!
