I'd like to remind everyone that half of the time I don't even know what I'm talking about. The other half of the time I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

Arhg! I've always wanted dungeon keeper! D:

Also, I have recently changed my desktop to this.
Giant Creatures amuse me. :)

(It's one of the entries of ConceptArt's Creature of the Week thing they have. No Legs, no wings, incredibly fast.)

Dungeon Keeper is awesome, i have vowed to create a similar game as a spiritual sequel the instant i get the opportunity to do so in the future.

The last mission is a bitch, make the last one in yours not so impossible.

Hey, Age of Empires is good.

fixed

I still play AoEII sometimes. Nothing like a good Mongol horse archer invasion.

Not to derail too much, but we need to get a session of AoE (I or II, the classics) going, since it's been mentioned. It's been ages since I last played that game against anyone (or Co-op deathmatch against a computer player). So my skill might be a tad rusty.

Maybe I should open a thread about this in Other Games/Play With Your Buddies? Just in case anyone's interested.

Damn shame nether of those games can be Livestreamed though. I even looked for a way to play them windowed; nothing. :( However Starcraft is a different case.

Oh, I came across something incredibly useful some time ago for developing mass-production strategies and whatnot for deathmatch mode especially. It's an Excel file however. It calculates timing of making many units based on mow many buildings you are using to make them, and tallies the cost and such. Basic instructions are included inside the file. Of course, it's for one unit type at a time; and calculates according to the base unit (like Knight for all the way up to paladins and such).

Oh, and it also includes building speed according to how many builders you have on task as well (including how many building of the same type you're making as well).

Freaking useful for deathmatch indeed.

Only got the third AoE here, I'm afraid :P.

Mainly because the computer I had was completely awful when AoE 1 and 2 were being released.  The most intensive game I ever got that computer the run was Zoombinis.

...How can some of you stand to have so many shortcuts?!(and how can others stand to have so few?)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I recently cleaned mine off, deleted most of the shortcuts for my games.

Oh man, the third can just barely be called an AoE game.
The second is a RTS classic, the third fucked with the formula way too much.

AoE 1 and 2; middle-paced, strategic and with multiple ways to win. You can actually play defensively and win.

AoE 3; Rushrushrushrush.
