I'm surprised your desktop isn't ponies.

I use the default windows background.
If anybody has suggestions feel free to do it.

Not many icons on there, i mainly use the nifty windows 7 task bar + start menu + start menu search function to start up things.
Also, for me it somehow feels wrong to have folders on my desktop.

At work at the moment, which is just a black background. Here's the picture I'm currently using as my home background, which I think is both pretty sweet and fits in with my perhaps rather Spartan aesthetic:

It's from the recent solar eclipse.

Currently have icons two deep running down the left side, which is really a row more then I really like - I should do some cleaning. For those of you who have explosions of icons all over your desktops - how do you put up with it? I'd find it incredibly distracting.

Believe it or not, I have other interests that also draw good artists in.  :P Pun most certainly intended.

Aurora on small monitors:
1. Game Parameters -> Reduced Height Windows.
2. Lock taskbar to the right side of your desktop.
3. Run Resize Enable

Dice doesn't think about ponies all the time; just most of the time.

When I was reorganizing my inventory to fit all by books on life and death into various bags and things, I looked at my inventory and saw that I was multigrasping a necromancer slab.  It was pretty hilarious.
I think that would be an excellent way to impart the critical lessons of life and death to the ignorant masses.

There hasn't a day gone by in the past 9 months or so I haven't thought about ponies. That's due to my daily routine involving several pony websites, though. And my programming project I work on most every day being tangentially pony related.

I lied earlier.

Yes, i like my desktop clean because i never really use it anyway.
All i use is the start menu, taskbar, and search function in the start menu. (and explorer, obviously)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I don't see it very often, since I use a tiling window manager, xmonad.  The panel at the top is xmobar.

Here's a dirty version.

Spoiler: A modest setup. (click to show/hide)

I'm still setting xmobar up, it's a bit spartan right now.

If you're interested in what's being run, htop, inxi.  I also use dmenu for launching applications.

The high resource usage is down to a FreeBSD machine (9-STABLE) running in QEMU, which is doing a recursive operation in the ports tree.

Not pictured: KTorrent with 92 torrents seeding, mostly TV shows that aren't available to watch where I live, as well as some Ubuntu, Arch and NetBSD install disks.
