You can use Chromium on Windows, I use it for large pictures and other stuff the lack of buttons is good for.

 I found it here. Just click enlarge wallpaper and then go to options, it should let you download it from there. I'm probably going to try to do the same as you lol. I just have no idea how to go about it, I found a instructional youtube video that looks promising though. I'll give that a look over tomorrow.

 Also, while snooping around I found the original version and the logo. I also found a screensaver I figured I would try, there are probably better ones out there though.

I use Linux ~95% of the time, and SLiM is pretty flexible.
In Windows (7 at least), you can change the background image fairly easily (minor registry tweak + put a file in the right place w/ the right name), but AFAIK there's no way to re-arrange the password box etc... but best of luck!

I finally got around to rejiggering mine with the new monitor.
I think it turned out pretty nice.

It's far too big for anybody to feasibly display without scaling, so linked for simplicity.
(Before anybody asks about the differing sensitive info censors -- the one that doesn't have the red text isn't, it's pixelated like that unless you mouse over ;) )
