No thanks on those absurdly high resolutions, I'm never going to go over 1280x720 if that.
When your monitor dies, you'll be SOL.
You can't run LCDs in a resolution they weren't made for without graphical artifacts.
It's a supported resolution for my monitor.  Just in case though, what are the signs of graphical artifacts because I need to know what I'm looking for.  If it's suppose to be clearly visible then I'm not getting that anywhere.

Tried Docky for a few days and I decided to go back to using tint2. I also dropped Metacity, as Openbox is so much better.

Err, what I meant was, when YOUR monitor dies, you'll be breaking your little ultimatum there by getting a new one, because literally no monitor worth the price you paid for it would support a resolution that low anymore.

But but but my monitor isn't recent so it has to be good.  But if it's not recent then that means it can't be that high either!!!  Oh no I'm screwed.

Why would you not want a higher resolution?  Is your computer just that old?

And I here I thought 1280x720 was the standard most people used.  :P

Does everyone else use 1440x900, 1920x1080, and stuff like that?  I assure you if my monitor were to capoot itself you can have my thanks for warning me beforehand, but I can't see that happening anytime soon since its been like that for over a year and nothing is different.

1366x768 for laptops and 1920x1080 for desktops are the ones I see the most.
There are a few schmucks who still have 1024x768 for laptops, and desktop resolutions vary greatly, but I don't see those nearly as often.

Yeah, I can't see myself using a 4:3 monitor anymore.  I have an old one that (oh my god) doesn't go over 1024x768.
