I was about to ask if you were in the wrong thread, until I noticed the Arch Linux thingamajig in the corner.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I do not like those.
It confuses people because they don't know what OS I use.
That and it's in Japanese.
I should call it aachi rinakusu.

Locale is set to Japanese, so everything's in Japanese.
As a result, everybody keeps obsessing that my computer is Japanese.
So to further confound them, I should say my OS is aachi rinakusu, or Arch Linux, but Japanised.
I can get away with this because there is no visible part of my desktop that reveals my OS.
Just a weird clock and system usage monitor.

Can't you just use Applocale or is there something important in Japanese scripting that I missed?

Has anyone found a Rainmeter skin that opens/closes like Stikma Rain does? I'm thinking of rejiggering one, if there is one, into a skin for iTunes.

Well, Gnometer's working out well on my Windows 7 install, and I really like it so far.

Hey, you, boy.

Yes, you, with the desktop. How did you manage to get those fancy shortcut thingies to the left and right? Hm?

Pretty sure they're just large, custom desktop icons.

If you mean the large ones at the corners then yes. As for the smaller ones, they came with Rainmeter.

For the desktop unknowledgable, how does one go about using custom desktop icons?

I prefer to keep a completely empty desktop, I never use my desktop. And being able to actually see my wallpaper is nice too.

On Linux (if I remember correctly, Windows is the same) you can right click, choose properties, and it'll let you change the icon.
Also, go to /wg/.
They have everything you will ever need to know regarding using Rainmeter, Windows docks, custom taskbars, and, of course, getting new wallpapers.
