Spent the weekend spriting custom window borders.

spriting custom window borders

wow...
and I was told that a custom dmenu wrapper was going overboard...
however, this was by a friend who seems to try a new distro every other week, so... :\
It's just spriting the two top corners, the middle piece, and the +, -, x, and menu buttons (I used some other guy's xml file, I'll get around to writing one on my own sometime, maybe...).

"Galumph"? Heh.
Yeah, that's the handle I use in places I signed up to in the past year.

You call that minimalism?
Do I have to pull out my desktop from back when I had Windows?

And now that I actually use my desktop:
Is there a Linux Rainmeter equivalent/Rainmeter in Wine?

Is there a Linux Rainmeter equivalent/Rainmeter in Wine?

There's Conky, I've heard it's similar but haven't tinkered with it personally yet.

By the way, what Rainmeter skin is that?

looks like the "default", Enigma, with a bit of re-arranging

So far, it looks like it'd be pretty cool, but it keeps closing out on me when I click the desktop.
Got that problem fixed, ONWARDS TO THE MODDING!

So far, this is quite cool, but there always seems to be an issue.
I can choose between:
-no icons
-horrible, horrible, flickering
-closing out every time I touch the desktop
-having its own window

Maybe a solution will present itself, or I can ask around, we shall see...

All overcomplicated, here's my nearly totally vanilla Debian Sid desktop.  Might get to work hacking up a nice Openbox desktop on my other box.  Depends on what takes my fancy at 2 in the morning.

I play DF way more than I play Minecraft, but DF doesn't have such charismatic bad guys.

Also, I use LILO, so don't trust anything I say.

Blarg Rainmeter. never could make it work for me. I'm kinda OCD when it comes to neatness too, so I couldn't deal with how things don't snap to grids and keep moving around in Rainmeter.
