Ferret... facts?  :o

Uh... forgot about that. It's a whole bunch of info about how to care for ferrets and what costs are expected to be like. I put the title in caps because at the time I made it it was pretty important, and then I ended up just forgetting about it and leaving it there.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I only occasionally translate articles from there for learning and take a very long time to read and understand them. :(

Man, I really have to learn how to program sometime...

Getting a basic grip is actually really easy. After a really short time you can even make programs simmulating physical processes, filters for removing noise from pictures, simple 3D engines, IM clients, etc.

What is difficult is mastering your skills.

Any language you'd suggest? I glanced briefly at C++, but it seems quite convoluted.

Even though Java has quite some disadvantages, I believe it's a good language to start with. If you really want to start from the very beginning, download Greenfoot and some tutorials for it. If you have a basic grasp of object-oriented programming, start with BlueJ. These are both learn-to-java engines. Once you feel confident enough to write your own programs from scratch, Netbeans or Eclipse are the common editors. Even though you can write virtually any language in notepad, editors (like Eclipse and Netbeans) have color coding, word match, bug trackers, error logs, automatic generation of tedious pieces of code, and so on.

There surely are more modern and interesting languages than Java and C++. Maybe some visual programming language to start with... to understand the loops structure, etc. I started with Delphi, now am using C++. Sometimes I work with MatLab or some other scientific enviroment. I hate them all :). For fun I would like to learn Processing and Piet.

I hear Python's a good language to start with.
