I've set up a new desktop.  I got a neat program called Fences which I use it to put my desktop icons on little movable trays.

I also checked out Rainmeter and I liked it.  I've been doing a LOT  of customizing of the Enigma theme that comes with Rainmeter.  I changed colors, added borders, added buttons and I made 2 completely new skins.  One for opening folders, and the other I made just tonight, for controlling VLC.  I use Autohotkey to command VLC through self terminating scripts.

Damn these programs are sweet!

Rainmeter is awesome isn't it?

I love the stuff. My friend tells me it used to be crap a few years ago, so he wouldn't believe me when I told him I made my current desktop with it.

Highly recommended.

Been fooling around with the ol' laptop today.

Since then, I've renamed My Computer to FRIEND COMPUTER (and also changed the Recycle Bin to all-caps to suit) Not pictured is a basic Launchy window. I'm on a Vista laptop here so this is about as advanced as my themeing gets without everything melting around me.

Spoiler: Look, a desktop (click to show/hide)

I burned today cleaning up my computer, so now we're off to L-land again.  *flagwave*  I wish I could say "because L reminds me of the person I miss," but it's really more "because L wasn't pink with green sparkles like most of my other desktops--and though it's true that I like wallpapers to make your head hurt and soul burn, I just wasn't in the mood for it today."

Meh.  I guess I'm in one of my L moods.  Oh, well.

Wouldn't have been triggered by this, would it?

Anyway, now looking for a new desktop.

That could be a picture of a butcher/cook/mason/farmer/midwife/any dwarf ever. Giving a dwarf a cleaver and a cat and coating them in blood? That's like giving a human two legs and the ability to be a colossal tool.

Good solid desktop, basically.

My background is set to a shuffled slide show, changing every half an hour, to show one of these. The rabbit one is probably my favourite though.

Nah, I just have "time to focus" (e.g. L moods), "time to relax" (e.g. random pink and orange and green desktop moods), and "time to beat the shit out of someone" (e.g. Vincent Valentine/Alucard moods).  I stopped wanting to beat people up around when I stopped being depressed, and I'm kind of bored by relaxing... so "L mood." >_>

This is annoying, because I have only a very small number of drab-ish desktops and a surprisingly large number of pink and orange and sparkly ones.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Only change is that almost all icons have been shoved into New Folder, but more importantly, it was created with a program, so if that style of desktop is interesting, I could make some for people, or share the program so that they can make their own.

New, fairly obvious wallpaper.

It's stretched, but they could do with some fattening up anyway.

Also, I spent far too long rearranging my desktop icons after that.
