It probably simply looks cool. And would probably look even better if you could use the printf formetting of %.8x (hex, padded to 8 digits)

It's not changed since I installed Rainmeter.
My desktop is visible so rarely that I forget to do anything with it.

Well, here it is, neglected as it may be. The background is on shuffle, though I don't have many to choose from. This is one of the better ones IMO.  Maybe sometime I'll load up my abandoned arch-linux boot and show that one too. It's pretty plain though, I never really got to tweaking with Openbox.
