There are various programs/shortcuts and half-finished/old/unused things of various quality. I tend to use the desktop as a dump space until I can reorganize it later...if I ever get around to that.

Going with space backgrounds at the moment, they're darker colored and pleasant on the eyes without having too many details cluttering up my already cluttered desktop.
