Upcoming DF release

Does anyone know if the raws a changing a whole lot, or if we have been given an example of what the new raws will be?

Yeah, they are getting huge changes.

For one, body tokens are getting a complete overhaul. I'd expect civilizations to change quite a bit too.

Many people are of the opinion that the game will be as different from the current version as the 3D versions are from 2D. As a great majority of this will lie in game mechanics and creature structure, the raws are going to be completely overhauled and won't even resemble the current ones.

There's a set of sample raws from way back that have probably changed five times over by now, lemme go look for 'em.

regardless, the slime shooter will be completed, come hell or high water, which are both entirely plausible setbacks at this point.

And the new metal raws. Have you seen them?

Yield, fracture points, tension, edges, and I think even malleability.

The new raws are yummy.

The next release looks like it will, for all intents and purposes, count as a different game. Probably a sequel (Dwarf Fortress 3!)
