Actually I thought it was done in more natural scenarios. In a wood, a hilly region, I don't know. So it's not even remotely trying to simulate a real military training. Would still be a miserable parody of it, but still.

You know, the people talking about tactics and stuff got me a little bit confused.

EDIT: ninja'd. Zchris, that's more like it. Do you actually run around forests and abandoned buildings with running shoes?

Hell yes.  Dude, you can BOOK IT in a good pair of shoes. Boots are just too heavy.

My trainers were fine.  Buying new shoes is a rather long way to go to attempt to get an advantage in paintball.

Ok, I'll step back on my first opinion then.

Of course shoes are better if all you need is speed.
But maybe with a decent pair of boots all the idiots in that video would still be able to stand on their feet in 1 cm of mud.

Cross-trainers, actually, are super duper at just about everything.  Although I'll admit mud can pose a bit of a problem.

You obviously haven't looked hard enough, Phantom. Fail, again.
They're obnoxiously heavy, stupid, they jam, and you run out of ammo too fast. And their fps is really low.

I have a paintball multi-gun thingy. It has a barrel on top that goes full auto, and a really large 'grenade launcher' on the bottom that shoots out what is basically a water baloon full of paint, but damn does it look cool.

The main issue I had with paintballing was that the mask fucked up my peripheral vision so badly.

This is why the few times I played I did so without a mask. A pair of small goggles works to protect your eyes just fine.

Ive always wanted to go painballing, but, since i live in Texas, its way too damn hot during the summer, and theres no time for me to do anything during the winter.

Oh, and they have paintball TANKS now. Forest games only i think.
