Look along the shore-line for edible plants, some are bull-rushes and arrow-root.

Tear off a few chunks of the cardboard box. Remove your underwear (in the end, leaving your pants on) and tear strips from it; use these pieces to make rudimentary foot coverings (i.e. cardboard soles tied on with strips of cloth).

It's important to take care of the little things in a survival situation. Bear Grylls even said it himself (or something to that effect :P).

you should read the last two updates, we were washed down river and we now have a WOODEN box, so unless we want massive splinters I don't think wood shoes is a good idea.

Okay, yea, I didn't read through all of it.
My new suggestion is to rest more to take some of the stress of of your limbs before looking for sustenance.
