Oh, you've been reading carefully.

You head back to that strange box, you leave your cardboard chunk back at your little settlement place, it doesn't serve any purpose.  You remember exactly where that box was and head there in a jiffy.  But....um....there looks like there's a problem...  A bear has made a comfy home inside that box, it's sleeping.  You can see the part of the box that had the writing on it, it's not even that close to the bear, maybe you can peek a look?

EDIT:  Scratch that, it's RIGHT NEXT TO THE BEAR.

Ignore Phantom.

Back away slowly. Even if by some miracle you made it close enough, AND got through the fur, the bear would still have plenty of time to kill us before it bled out.

Head in the opposite direction, get a sense of where we are in Lats and Longitude.

Look for some water, pond, creek anything, in the opposite direction of the bear.  If you believe the berrys are poinsonous, pick some and put them in a pile near the bear. (Maybe we can poison it, or even tame it, though un likely.

You guess you can't read the note, it's too risky.  You are about to back off slowly when *BANG* a gunshot rings through the air.  It connects with the bear right into the closed eye socket.  The bear jumps up quickly, but then slumps over, dead.

"Good shot I might say."  Says a voice nearby.  You turn to look.

A man in "safari" clothes, if that's the word, comes out from behind a thick shrub nearby.  He isn't suprised by your presence, you don't even think he notices you.  As he walks to the now dead bear, you shout out some greeting to him, "Hey you!"  You say.  He finally notices you.

"Oh, you must be the new one." He says softly.

"New what?"  You respond in surprise.

"Nevermind."  He keeps walking ahead and reaches the bear, cautiously he approaches just in case.  He looks like he's been doing this his whole life.

You approach him and say, "Why am I here?!"

The man glances away for a minute,  "I can't tell you."

"Why not!?"  You don't want to be here any longer.

"Sorry, I need to go, bye now."  He glances at his prize, thinks twice and runs off to the west.  Boy he's fast.
