I've never let the elves live to sue for peace...

I did accept peace once from human merchants, although TBH I'm still not sure why they attacked me in the first place, nor why they stood at the edge of the map- I like to think they attacked the wrong fortress. :)

I figured out why the image didn't work in the first post- there's an errant backslash at the end. It was the image in Christes' post.

I updated the first post with a link from photobucket - I was using a different site and I guess it was showing up for me because I was logged in - it wasn't showing for me today.

So, what's the best way to go to war with Elves? Generating a world over and over till you get one with hostile Elves? I gotta see that screen for myself  :P.

You can steal from the merchants, but the extremely low total value in each caravan makes it ineffective.

The best way is when they ask you to stop cutting trees, agree, and then cut down AS MANY TREES AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN in the coming year.
