Kentucky Fried Chicken, whose names is itself a litany of lies, is test-marketing a new product, called the Double Down Sandwich.  Two kinds of cheese on bacon, slathered in something which I can only hope to God is euphemistically called "Colonel's Sauce".  The kicker?  The sandwich innards are not held between slices of bread.

They are held between whole pieces of chicken.  Gentlemen!  Behold!



Okay, so they're breaded pieces of chicken, which covers all bases on top of being extra super duper groodie.

This is the kind of thing The Simpsons used to joke about happening.  It's real.  The NBC newsroom conducted a spot-check to see who had the nards to challenge the thing.  Out of thirty people, six stepped up to the plate, including two anchors and a Medal of Honor recipient, who ain't afraid of no chicken.

Here it is again in case you didn't see it the first time.



It's a chicken sandwich between two slices of chicken.  That's it, universe over, everyone go home.

Uhh... WOW... I don't think I'd eat that... Might order it and split it up and share the pattys and chicken innards with someone. But not eat it as a sandwich.


And this comes from someone who occasionally (Very rarely honetly, like if I've been forgetting to eat) eats burgers with three patty's in them.

You have to remember that their mascot is a colonel. This guy's been preparing for war with our stomach for over 70 years now, and this is their latest and greatest weapon with which to fight this war.
