I remember once, at school, I translated my essay to a bunch of different languages, for fun. After putting it through German and back, one of the words was Robocop.

I don't think you're doing it right. You feed the English phrase to the German translator, translate the German to English, feed that into another translator, etc.

The more complex the sentence, the better. If it's just a few words that can be directly translated in all languages, it'll usually be fine. For example, 'War and Peace' doesn't change at all.

War. War never changes.

It does, of course, only take one minor change in tense or meaning to send the whole thing out of control.
